In a coup for Edinburgh Blues Club, we are proud to host this Question & Answer with Bruce Iglauer of Alligator Records to take place at 6pm preceding the show by Alligator Records recording artist Toronzo Cannon and the Cannonball Express.

Alligator Records is an American, Chicago-based independent blues record label, founded by Bruce Iglauer in 1971. The label has released over 250 blues and blues/rock albums. Present and past Alligator artists include Albert Collins, Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers, Marcia Ball, Koko Taylor, Clifton Chenier, Charlie Musselwhite, Tommy Castro, James Cotton, Lonnie Brooks, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials, Eddy Clearwater, Sam Lay, Smokin’ Joe Kubek, Roomful of Blues, Eric Lindell, Shemekia Copeland, JJ Grey & MOFRO, Guitar Shorty, Joe Louis Walker and Michael Burks.Bruce Iglauer will discuss the Chicago ghetto club scene from the time he arrived there in 1970, building the Alligator Records blues label, working in the studio, and tell stories about the musicians he has had the great luck to have worked with and known.

This session will be followed by Edinburgh Blues Club Presents Toronzo Cannon & Redfish featuring Alligator Records recording artist Toronzo Cannon in the Ballroom.
